2021 Thrifty Pineapple Recap

2021 was definitely a year to remember! We moved to a new city, started new jobs, survived a state-wide freeze, and went 5 days without power and water, got vaccinated and boosted, traveled a little as the world started to reopen, spent plenty of time at the beach, and made some great memories!

I thought it would be fun to look back at my favorite blog posts and favorite memories of each month, mainly because I think this will be fun to look back at in a few years!

Favorite Trip

This year I was fortunate enough to sneak in a few trips to Fort Worth, spent a weekend in Fredericksburg with some old friends, and spent some much-needed sister time at Disney World.

But I think my favorite trip of the year was Jared and I’s trip to Jekyll Island. It was exactly what we needed and it was so fun to experience a brand new place together. You can read all about it in this blog but we absolutely loved and I can’t wait to go back!

Favorite Campaign

Oh man, this is a tough one! I think one of my favorite campaigns would have to be my partnership with Cricut. Last year for Christmas I bought myself a Cricut and began to share my crafts from there a sponsored partnership was created. My favorite partnerships are the ones where I am already passionate about something and the stars align to collaborate.

I mentioned this on my stories yesterday but my most read blog post of 2021 was my Rothy’s Sneaker Review. I absolutely love writing review posts and since these sneakers are a splurge it was great to share my thoughts!

January

Favorite Blog Post: DIY Disney Patch Denim Jacket

Memory of the Month: This memory is easy, we closed on our house and officially moved to Houston in January. We also had our movers cancel on us the day we were supposed to move which made things a little crazy but it all worked out!

February

Favorite Blog Post: Rothy’s Sneaker Review

Memory of the Month: A memory that will definitely last me a lifetime is the ice freeze that shut down Texas. At first, it was fun, and then it was definitely not! Our apartment got down to 40 degrees and we had no food or water. We would take breaks going to our car to warm up and charge phones. We also stopped by a warming station to get some food and charge everything. It was truly one of the wildest things I’ve ever lived through.

Memory of the Month: This memory also coincides with the blog post because I loved this trip! We got to have a lovely dinner and night out with friends and got to have lunch with my family and all the pups!
