As soon as our Disney World trip was confirmed I immediately began planning my outfits. I mean if you don’t wear cute outfits to Disney did you even go? Just Kidding! However, I began searching on Pinterest and came across a few inspirations for a DIY Disney patch denim jacket. I knew immediately that I needed to do this, so with the help of my friends at Sprinkled with Pink, we created this adorable Disney patch denim jacket.
DIY Disney Patch Denim Jacket
I am absolutely obsessed with how this turned out. I think it’s so fun because each one of these patches represented some of my favorite Disney movies, characters, or park attractions. It’s completely custom to me and something I can wear when I take my kids to Disney one day or who knows maybe even pass it down to them.
My friends at Sprinkled with Pink created this custom jacket for me by adding my name to the top of the jacket in the iconic Disney font. While they were hard at work, I began searching high and low on Etsy for the perfect patches.
I didn’t really have a plan of attack but I knew I wanted them to be all unique and different and things that had a meaning for me. I knew I wanted them to completely cover the back add one or two the front so I was aiming for 15-20 patches and I ended up with 19. Each patch ranged from $7-12 so the patches definitely added up quickly but in my opinion, it was totally worth it. When searching I only looked for iron-on patches to help make my life a little easier when attaching everything.
Here are all the patches I purchased:
Once everything arrived I began mixing and matching and playing around with placement. Once I got them exactly how I liked I started ironing them on. I did exactly buy one that was not iron-on so I attached it with some E6000 glue. I also had a hard time getting the UP and Lizzie patch to stick so I use glue as well.

It took me a long time to get each patch exactly where I wanted it but I think the balance of colors and shapes turned out nicely.
Unfortunately, It was a little toasty (even in December) when we went but it was great to wear in the airport and on the bus to the parks each morning. It definitely got beat it going in and out of my backpack and all of the patches held up great.
Overall, I love how this turned out and I felt very special at the parks having something completely custom that no one else had. Although, and investment it’s totally worth it plus next time I head to Disney I already have the perfect accessory.

This is precious!! What a fun and creative statement! We normally go to Disney in January, so this made me really sad that’s not happening this year.
I really love how custom you can make this. The Lizzie patch might be my fav.

Angela, this is seriously the cutest! I loved the idea so much I gifted my sister a denim jacket and a few patches to start her own jacket as next year she will be at school in Orlando. Thanks for sharing!
