When we were planning our wedding I heard so many people say “Enjoy every moment, because it goes by so quick.” I wanted to incorporate special moments for Jared and I to take a step back and enjoy the moment. We decided to have a private last dance for just the two of us.
I feel like this is becoming more common, but still a lot of people don’t know to do this. We were dancing our lives away and then the DJ called everyone on the floor for the last dance. Following the last dance with everyone, the DJ had all of the guests exit the ballroom. She turned the on the music and let the photographer snap photos for 30 seconds and then we had the whole room to our selves to soak up the last few seconds of our wedding day.
This also gave us another chance to use a song that was special to us, but maybe something we didn’t want for our first dance or in the ceremony.
While we were taking 3 minutes to ourselves, my house party girls were passing out glow sticks and getting everyone prepared for our exit. This made for a seamless transition. I HIGHLY recommend doing this if you are planning your big day. It was so nice to just breathe and soak in the last few moments of our special day.

That’s such an amazing idea to live the moment after crazy endless preparation stress. Love it.
