It’s no surprise that blogging isn’t a full-time gig for me, while I love blogging it’s more of a creative outlet/serious hobby than it is a full-time job for me. With that being said, balancing blogging and work while still maintaining a happy healthy marriage and personal life can be rather tricky.
Work Life Balance Tips
One way I have been able to successfully manage everything is by making the most of my downtime. My photographer is super flexible due to her semi-lax schedule of a college student. We used to meet on weekends to shoot photos, but I was really struggling to have a time of rest in my week, since I was working 9-5 Monday through Friday and planning/shooting on Saturdays, then church on Sunday and writing content on Sunday evenings and then the whole cycle starts over. After the time change and the sun starting to go down earlier, we decided to meet during my lunch break on Thursday for some quick pictures.
This was a PERFECT solution because my hair and makeup were already done for work and I already had one outfit ready for what I was wearing for the day. I also work right off of our downtown square so it was knocking out two birds with one stone.
My office has a very casual work environment, so this tee cardigan combo is perfect for the workday. I had been eyeing this cardigan, but it was originally $50. Y’all know I am cheap, so $50 for a cardigan was just too much for me. I was so lucky to find it in my size during the Black Friday Old Navy craziness and scored it for 50% off! $25 is definitely more doable!
Another work-life balance tip is to be organized and disciplined. I am a Type A personality to the max. I have to have a plan or I go crazy. I have more planners than I can count and I LOVE lists. Typically, I try to schedule out all The Thrifty Pineapple posts on Sunday, that way during the work week I can come and make dinner and relax with Jared. Of course, this doesn’t always happen, but I find when I miss my Sunday night planning/creation session, my week is definitely more stressful.

I’m with you! Planning out blog content has been tough, especially with a teaching job. I just have to keep reminding myself-it’s definitely worth it! Love this look!
