A few weeks, I attended the sweetest baby shower for one of my girlfriends. Baby showers are a year-round occurrence, but it seems like Spring they really ramp up, so I thought now would be the perfect time to share what to wear to a baby shower.
What To Wear To A Baby Shower
Unlike bridal showers where white is a no-no, there are no hard and fast rules on what the attendees can and cannot wear to celebrate the shower the momma to be, so there is a little more flexibility on what you can wear which can be a good thing or a bad thing.
When it comes to showers, especially in the Spring, I like to keep it along the same lines as wedding showers with more light colors…think Easter Sunday attire.
You definitely want to know the location. If it’s at someone’s house than it might be more relaxed than if it’s at a restaurant or country club.
I would recommend asking around to see what others are wearing and what the mom to be is wearing. This will give a general idea of if white jeans are appropriate or if you want to high-tea attire.
You definitely want to avoid wearing mini-skirts, skin-tight dresses or crazy platform heels.
This dress from 59th and 9th was perfect for the shower because of the airy-ness and tea length. I received so many compliments and I just love the eyelet with the subtle pop of gingham underneath.
I paired this dress with nude heels, simple pearl earrings, and a wicker basket to tie in the whole Spring look.
