A few weeks ago, I popped on Instagram stories and was talking about how I was thinking of asking for an Apple Watch for my birthday and I got so many direct messages being like, “girl, don’t you have a Kate Spade SmartWatch and didn’t you write a whole blog about it?” I was surprised how accountable y’all keep me but also like yeah…what happened to that? This forced me to go on a hunt for it and I found it. I’ve been wearing it almost every day for about 6 weeks and wanted to share an updated Kate Spade Smart Watch Review.
Updated Kate Spade Smart Watch Review
So I think I need to address why I stopped wearing it and how it got lost. Initially, I was wearing it and loving it and then life got crazy and we moved houses. I think I took it off one day packed up boxes and forgot all about it. When I went on the hunt I found it in our guest bedroom closet in one of those boxes we never got around to unpacking. Please tell me I’m not the only one who has one of those closets.
So I pulled it out and after it being in a box for almost a year it had some trouble holding a charge but after wearing it for a full week the battery power was back to holding it’s full charge again.
I was craving a smartwatch again because I started working out again and wanted something to track my steps and activity. Although as I began to work out more and wear it daily I noticed quite a bit of wear and tear on the light blush colored straps.
After a little bit of research, I found that Fossil is actually the manufacturer and distributor of all Kate Spade watches including their smartwatches. I wanted to invest in a darker colored strap but the Kate Spade ones were around $50 and they didn’t really have any that I just loved. I figured if they made their watches their straps would also likely fit the Kate Spade SmartWatch. So I took a look at Fossil and found they had a lot more options. I checked out the videos to ensure it would fit and purchased a navy strap and it fits perfectly.
In case you were wondering the watch strap size is 16mm.
So why the Kate Spade SmartWatch instead of an Apple Watch?
One price, but also I was really worried about becoming too addicted to my watch and having the “wrist twitch”. You know, the flipping of the wrist motion people have consistnetly when checking their wrist every time it buzzes. I just think it’s rude in certain situations.
I also knew that I wanted to likely take it off for weekends, taking photos, nice events and such, so again I was worried if I got too addicted I would never take it off. I also think Apple watches with the big black square on your wrist is ugly. I do think pretty much all screens on your wrists are not attractive but the circle from the Kate Spade SmartWatch is a little more discrete and I don’t feel like I have to wear it 24/7.
I think this meme sums it up perfectly…
So overall, I am still wearing it “almost” every day and I really like but I definitely haven’t become addicted. I highly recommend if you are looking to dip your toes into the SmartWatch space and want something fashionable, chic and functional.
Since my original review they have come out with a few new Kate Spade branded face options which I really like. They look chic and are different than something you can get on an Apple Watch.
Check out my original review here to read more about the functions, pros, and cons.
They are also currently on sale at Nordstrom Rack for 53% off the original price. Perfect time to ask for one for Christmas!

Such a helpful review! I have a traditional Kate Spade watch but I’ve always wondered about this style.

Is this watch more for like simple fitness such as step tracking or can it be used to track a workout effectively?
Angela says
Yes, that’s what I mainly use it for!
