I received my Kate Spade Smartwatch about two weeks ago and I’ve had a chance to explore the pros and cons and decide whether or not it’s worth the money. Keep reading for a comprehensive Kate Spade Smartwatch Review.
Kate Spade Smart Watch Review
Overall, I have really enjoyed my watch. I LOVE to be connected, just like every other millennial. I also have a lot of back to back meetings, so it’s nice to have my email on me or keep up with what’s next when I don’t have my phone, computer or planner on me.
Pros:
Design
Kate Spade is one of my favorite brands, so obviously the design of this watch is right up my alley. I love the balance of fashion and function this watch brings unlike anything else I’ve seen on the market.
The scallop details around the face make the watch feel ultra feminine and with several different watch straps, it’s easy to find one that fits your everyday style. I went with the blush strap since it is neutral enough to match just about every outfit I wear.
Kate Spade Watch Faces
Along with the chic outward appearance the Kate Spade Smartwatch offers several Kate Spade designed watch faces to complete your #OOTD. I prefer the gold balloon letters with either a navy or black background pending my outfit. I also love the daisy face for something a little more flashy. Below are the face options for this watch.
Clarity of the Screen
The Kate Spade Smartwatch has a SUPER clear screen. Most people have iPhones, so I was a little skeptical, but the screen is very clear and easy to read. It also lights up the screen when making the motion of reading the time which is very user-friendly.
Function
There are surprisingly a lot of features within the smartwatch to make it fit within your life. It also taps into the Google Play store so you can download more apps like Spotify or Pandora to make it even more customizable.
Step Tracking
I wouldn’t consider me an athletic type, but I really enjoy counting my steps. I’m lucky enough to have a job that encourages their employees to be active, so if I check my steps I can take a lap around the building to meet my step goal.
Cons:
Compatibility with IOS
The compatibility is a little limited with IOS, however, I blame Apple for this and not Kate Spade. It’s no surprise that Apple wants to keep it within the family, so, unfortunately, you cannot utilize the speaker in the watch if you have an iPhone.
You can see who’s calling and accept or deny, but you have to hop on your phone to actually talk. Additionally, you can see who texts you, but you can’t reply from the watch directly.
Like I said unless it’s an Apple watch you’ll see this across the market.
Overall, I would say I really like my Kate Spade Smartwatch. Since receiving it I’ve worn it every day and have become quite addicted to having the accessibility on my wrist. I would definitely recommend this for a gift or save up and splurge on it!

So tou can pair the watch with an iPhone is that right? The problem would be not being able to answer calls and txt?
Angela says
Yes it does pair with the Iphone, but the text and call featured is not enabled.
Kelly says
Can you help me. I am unable to acess my emails and text message. They are not even showing up as a notification on my watch.
Angela says
Hmmm I haven’t experienced that issue. I would recommend reaching out to Kate Spade’s customer service directly. They should be able to help you!
Mindi says
I’m having the same issue. Were you able to fix the text messages so you can see them on your watch?
Megan Marcin says
I’m thinking about purchasing the Kate Spade Smartwatch. My only concern is being able to ‘ping’ or ‘find’ my phone. I lose it – a lot, and it’s a feature I know is on the apple watch. I haven’t seen any reviews that say if this does or doesn’t work on the Kate Spade watch.

Hi,
I have the Scallop 2(2019) and you can definitely ping your phone!
Dee says
Thanks for your review! What has the battery life been like for you?
KATY says
Looking at purchasing over an apple watch. I read the battery life was an issue. How was it for you?
Angela says
I haven’t had any issues with battery life. Lasts all day!
Pamela Huber says
I loved my Scallop 2 for 5 months. At that point the back literally fell off when I took it off my wrist. Within a week after it was repaired, it overheated and froze up. When it was returned after this repair, the color change option would not work and I had problems pairing it to my phone. At this point I had spent $15 in postage sending it for repair, so they agreed to send me a new watch. Within a week the color change feature stopped working. I am not sending it for repair again, so I have a piece of Junk that I paid $300 for just 10 months ago. Now I see the watch is selling for half of what I paid.
Angela says
Awww man what a bummer! I am so sorry to hear you had a bad experience. Kate Spade typically moves to discount retailers like Nordstrom Rack pretty quickly so I always recommend checking there first!
Tara says
I too am finding issues in my watch. I have never gotten text alerts and now with the recent pandemic I haven’t worn in it a while. When I went to charge it it no longer was pairing with my phone so I had to start from scratch and it’s not responding at all to my touch. I used to have a feature to organize my apps now that seems to be gone. I’m not very happy with the watch and frankly haven’t been since I bought it.
Paula says
Does the Kate Spade smartwatch pair with android phones? I read your review, but it was specifically about iphones. If it does pair, does the call feature work with android? Or, do I still have to actually “talk” on my phone?
Delores Martin says
Having problems charging my watch. Can you give me a little help on getting that together. I try to get a charge it will not work or it will only last about 4 hours. Thanks
Angela says
I find that the more you wear it the longer the charge holds. If it’s new or you haven’t worn it in a while the battery life isn’t great but the more you wear it the longer it lasts.
Keri says
Are you still using the Kate Spade watch? I just received mine and am so excited with it’s features, but I can’t seem to figure out how to use the Google fit app with it! I tried to use it during a workout today and couldn’t figure out how to stop it. Now I’m not able to record a new workout because it’s still stuck on the previous workout! Do you know how to stop a workout on the watch?
james R newman says
The heart rate is not accurate. Company says it will be 20-30 beats off. They are aware of the problem but nothing they can do about it.
Bruno Vottari says
have a Katie’s Spade watch need to change the language to English and don’t know how to do it
