I am in a local book club that follows the Reese Witherspoon book club picks and October was my turn to host! I love hosting but it can be very overwhelming. I tried to follow the theme but also keep it relatively simple. I know hosting can be a major stressor for people so I thought I would share a quick look at my book club table decor.
Book Club Table Decor
Coterie Party recently partnered with Draper James to create the perfect southern Draper James themed party in a box, I knew this would be perfect for my book club! If you aren’t familiar Coterie is a party supplies brand that makes party prep SO easy! All you do is pick a theme and say how many people are coming and then a box is delivered with everything you need! Cups, napkins, flatware, photo booth props, literally everything is covered in their party sets.
When it came to food I knew I wanted to finger/appetizer items. My new favorite place is Aldi! I know I live in Walmart country and I still shop there for 90% of my groceries and other needs, but y’all Aldi is my jam! I got all of the food and wine for around $60!
A charcuterie board is also a recent obsession of mine, so that was a must-have plus it’s a total showstopper. Check out my full blog on how to assemble and put together a charcuterie board for under $30 here.
I then added some veggies and hummus, pretzels and dessert hummus, berries and, of course, chocolate!
Lastly, no book club is complete without wine, so duh, wine! I picked up a few options from Aldi of their $2.50 bottles. I also had some non-alcoholic drinks available for my pregnant or nursing mommas.
And of course, everyone brought things, so we had more than enough food, but I am so happy with how it turned out and everyone had a blast.
The book we discussed was “The Secrets We Kept” which was a historical fiction set in the 1950s and the Cold War era. I am not a historical fiction kind of girl but I highly recommend this book. I LOVED it!
And next time you throw a party or host an event head to Coterie to make life a breeze!
