Happy almost summer y’all! This year has been pretty unusual for me when it comes to swimsuit shopping. I normally am kind of a cheapskate when it comes to swimsuits. I just have a hard time buying new swimwear because I work full time and spend my weekends running errands, so I don’t get to the pool much. So normally I just wear an old swimsuit or get a cheap one at Target. This year since I had the honeymoon and other occasions that called for new swimwear.
I bought 90% of my new swimsuits in the offseason during sales periods and then just put them in the back of the closet until it was time to wear them to the beach. You can find the best deals on swimsuits in the offseason! I got most of mine for 50+% off.
I was always raised to wear modest swimsuits and modesty is something I am very passionate about. I always look for swim bottoms that have a good coverage and aren’t too skinny on the sides. A high waisted bottom is always a good option as well and is one of my new favorites. Thank you, Taylor Swift, for bringing these back in style.
I also have a small chest, so I try to opt for a bandeau or high neck option. Sometimes this can lead to funky tan lines, but you can’t win them all.
Something new for me this season was a one piece. When I think of one pieces I think of the ugly one pieces I used to half to wear to church camp. This one from Target is so cute and very functional paired with denim shorts (no coverup needed!). The modern silhouette keeps in modest but gives a fun aspect to the suit with the scallop ruffles and the low back. This was perfect for our beach excursion, the straps helped with keeping everything in place and the dark color kept me worry free of stains.
