Who says casual can’t be cute? I got these New Balance sneakers for my birthday and here is how to style sneakers 3 different ways.
I’ve had my eye on them for about a year now and my parents surprised me with them for me birthday. They knew I wanted them, but wouldn’t buy them for myself. I think the reason I was hesitant to buy these shoes was because I am just a flats girls at heart and I didn’t think I would get enough wear out of sneakers. When I first got them I was a little stumped as to how to wear them but now that I have the hang of it, I can’t take them off!
For the first look, I paired the sneakers with a white jeans and a button down. This dresses up the sneakers a little bit, but still keeps the overall look laid back. I like my skinny jeans to cut a little shorter. Since I am pretty petite (5’2″) leaving a little ankle breaks up the lines and makes you look taller. This look is perfect for a casual Friday at the office.
This look really brings out the gold accents in the sneakers. I paired the kicks with a simple stripe t-shirt dress and gold accessories. I like paring the sneakers with a dress to balance the feminine look with a sporty edge. (Time to embrace your inner Sporty Spice!) This look is perfect for running errands, hanging out a coffee shop or meeting a friend for a quick bit to eat.
This look is probably my favorite. With a few styling tricks it takes a boring pair of jeans and a simple chambray button down into an effortless cool girl style. I rolled my sleeves the classic “J.Crew” way by doing one big cuff past my elbow and another messier cuff to hold it in place. I also only tucked in half my shirt for an asymmetrical unexpected look. The sneakers really ties in the effortless style and I kept the accessories pretty minimal with a pearl bracelet, simple watch and minimalist necklace.
