Each year my college besties and I do a weekend trip together and it’s one of my highlights of each year. Since we all live in different cities it’s a time to catch up, reminisce and make new memories. Last year we did Dallas, this year we did a girls weekend in Fredericksburg, TX.
I wasn’t planning on sharing about my weekend because I truly just wanted to enjoy my girlfriends and not worry about blogging and taking photos, however, I got SO many requests I thought I would go ahead and share.
I’m super lucky that one of the girls planned everything and was very familiar with the city, so I could just enjoy the ride.
Girls Weekend in Fredericksburg, TX
Where We Ate:
Friday Lunch: Emma and Ollie
I ordered the Kale Cesar Salad and it was delicious! This place is adorable and totally Instagrammable. They don’t split checks here so one girl may need to pay and everyone can Venmo her or bring cash.
Friday Evening: Hondo’s
Super fun, classic Texas vibe with live music and two-stepping. Seating is tricky so I recommend getting their earlier rather than later. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak because when in Texas…
Saturday Brunch: Sunset Grill
Local place, great mimosa options, might be a slight wait. They also don’t split checks but they will charge different cards split evenly.
Saturday Dinner: Navajo Grill
Nicer option. I recommend getting reservations. I ordered the crab taquitos and y’all….they were SO good. They also have great cocktails if you want something other than wine!
Sunday Morning: Java Ranch
We had planned to go to a German bakery for breakfast but it was absolutely packed and some of the girls had a long drive home, so we ended up going to this cute coffee shop that also and great breakfast option. Little to no wait at all!
Things To Do/Recommended Wineries
The downtown area is seriously so cute and easy to pop in and out of shops while walking around. There are also a bunch of tasting rooms and you can drink on the go (I know, weird) but you can grab a glass of wine and take it anywhere!
On Friday we stuck to the tasting rooms since we were heading to the wineries Saturday.
Friday’s Tasting Rooms:
This place was very quiet and upscale with plenty of seating. The service was amazing and their wine was delicious, plus they lured us in with free prosecco.
This place was PACKED and had no seats, you had to stand at the counter (no, thank you). It came highly recommended but their wine was not good. They had weird concoctions, had way too much sugar and was overpriced. I recommend skipping this one.
This place was my jam! It was full of Restoration Hardware couches and private rooms which was perfect for girl chat. I got the rose which was amazing and the service was personable and helpful. They also had some really fun flights like a red, white and blue champagne flight that offered blue champagne.
Saturday’s Wineries
This place was highly recommended so we started here and it was definitely my favorite. They had tons of seating indoor and outdoor, you can also walk through the vineyard which is great for pictures, they have live music and you can bring your own snacks. We actually saw a lot of people bringing in coolers.
One tip we learned was it’s about $15-18 per glass or $25-30 per bottle. We ended up taking turns buying bottles because you can get about 5 glasses out of one bottle so it’s definitely a better option.
This place was also very popular but honestly pretty trashy. It’s very kitschy and their wine similar to Fiesta was too sweet and overpriced. Tons of bachelorette parties, but not worth the hype at all. Also limited seating. Skip for sure!
This place was cute with tons of options. We lucked out and got one of the private rooms off the main room. They also had a BBQ food truck I grabbed a snack at as well as local vendors and baby goats! It was the perfect place to end the day.
Honestly, this place is super overrated, but it’s like the only place open past 10 PM. They do have live music that varies and is fun to go out dance at. My girlfriends and I are known for tearing up the dance floor, so of course, we went but we were basically the only people dancing. Don’t show up past 10:30 on Saturday or you’ll have to wait in line if they are at the maximum capacity. They do have a $10 cover as well on Saturdays.
Where To Stay
We had the most perfect Airbnb that I have found for under $100 a night and sleeps 5-6 comfortably. It’s super cute, very clean and in a great location. The only downside was there was only one bathroom but we made it work!
How To Get Around
They do have bus/shuttle services, however, we just Ubered. They just recently got Uber, so it’s super easy and pretty affordable since everything is so close. We had one person pay for all the Ubers and we just paid her back at the end of the weekend and for 5 girls Ubering XL everywhere it was $20 each.
We actually got hooked up with an Uber XL driver named Robert who picked us up three times in a row and ended up being our private driver for the weekend. We would just text or call him us to pick us up and then Venmo him. Sounds sketchy but he was totally legit.
It was such a fun Girls Weekend in Fredericksburg, TX and something I’ll always remember. This was my first time in Fredericksburg and I’ll definitely be back. It’s perfect for a girls weekend, mother-daughter weekend, or a Bachelorette party.
Check out last year’s trip when we did Dallas here.
