It’s been about a month since we moved into our rental house here in Houston and we’re almost all settled in! It feels SO good to be in a house again and Beau (our pup) is loving it too. Although, we loved our apartment having the space and the peace and quiet is much better. The one hang-up we had with our new place was our kitchen. It’s a little bit of an odd shape and had this large blank wall on the opposite side of the cabinets. Jared came up with the idea to put a DIY pot rack to the right of our bar cabinet.
This is a genius idea because not only is it super functional and saves space in our cabinets it also looks great with our colorful pots and pans. The best part is it was this DIY pot rack was under $40!
DIY Pot Rack for Under $40
This really is the easiest DIY ever! We picked up three HULTARP Rails from IKEA in the color polished brass size 31 ½ ” for $8.99 each. They do have silver and black options as well as various sizes depending on your space and decor.
We also grabbed three packs of the HULTARP hooks in the same polished brass color for $3.99 for a 5 pack of hooks. I know IKEA isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and can be very overwhelming but if you have a vision or a creative brain it can be a great cost saver!
We measured out the space as well as the height of our larger pans to ensure everything fit nicely and boom! You do want to keep in mind finding studs on your walls pending how heavy the items you’ll be hanging.
The hooks are thin enough and sturdy enough to hang everything from cutting boards to cast iron skills as you can see in the photos!
This was a super easy DIY that fills the space perfectly, is functional, and looks aesthetically pleasing. It also took under 15 minutes to get all set up!
