This time last year I rounded up and comprehensive Lilly Pulitzer sizing guide where I shared details of every Lilly Pulitzer piece I owned. Flash forward a year and my collection has grown. I wanted to expand that blog into a part two, as my sizing has changed a little and I’ve acquired new items.
I also wanted to expand this blog and open it up to other Thrifty Pineapple Lilly lovers, so I had readers submit photos of their Lilly items and share their sizing recommendations as well.
Not only is this helpful to see how they styled Lilly items but everyone’s body is different and unique and, of course, beautiful so I thought having a reader collection would be fun and insightful!
And the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale for September 2020 is right around the corner so if you have checked out all the details you’re not going to want to miss it.
Comprehensive Lilly Pulitzer Sizing Guide Part 2
My Sizing
Height: 5’2″
Weight: 140
Bra Size: 32A
Typical Top Size: Small
Typical Pant Size: 27/28
Typical Dress Size: 4/6 (This definitely fluctuates depending on the dress!)
New Styles In My Wardrobe
I am wearing a size 4 in this dress and this dress is hands down my all-time favorite Lilly dress. It definitely runs true to size. It’s structured like a typical shift dress but has some stretch to it so if hugs you in the right places. It’s so flattering and I absolutely LOVE that it has sleeves.
This dress also comes in a solid white that we’ve seen pop up in the last few After Party Sales and if you are a bride you need to snag this one!
Romee Wrap Dress
The Romee is another super figure-flattering dress style. I am wearing a small in this dress and I would say it runs true to size. My only watch out on this dress is it is a functional wrap dress, so my biggest issue is in the chest area. I have to safety pin to keep the top closed and secure but if you are chesty I would not recommend this dress.
This Elsa top is the holy grail Lilly item, it’s where I recommend everyone to start. It definitely runs on the larger side and has a pretty long hem. I typically half tuck it as I did here, but this top is very versatile and comes in bold Lilly prints but also solids.
I would say this dress fits very similarly to the Maisie Stretch Shift Dress. I am wearing a size 4 and although a little tight in the hips it’s definitely not something I would want to size up in. I would recommend getting your normal size.
I snagged this during the Lilly Pulitzer Dressed For Summer Sale in June and it was the perfect lightweight summer top. I ordered a size small and it fits perfect. It’s not too tight but still flattering.
If this Maisie Stretch Shift Dress is my favorite then this is a close second. I absolutely love the style of this dress. I am wearing my normal size 4 and honestly, it runs a little big. I could have been totally fine in a size 2. If you are on the fence I would recommend sizing down.
It is technically a midi length dress but because of my height, it’s more of a maxi dress on me. I typically wear this dress with heels or wedges so it’s not a problem for me.
I have a hunch we’ll see this pop up during the September After Party Sale, but it’ll go quick!
I think this is the only top I’ve ever paid full price for, but it just screams me. One the name and two the print is pineapples. My mom actually grabbed this top in the Dressed For Summer sale in a different print. I ended up sizing down on this top because the neckline was a little too low for me and I am flat-chested so I could get away with it. If you have a similar to build to me I would size down but if you are more well endowed get your normal size.
The best part about this top though is it’s machine washable, whereas the Elsa is dry clean only!
Chrisella Stretch Midi Shirtdress
Before we get into sizing if this dress is on your list. Bookmark the link above for Monday morning and right when you get into the sale purchase this. This dress is going to be so popular on Monday so if you are on top of it, you’ll miss it!
Ok, sizing! I am wearing my normal 4 in this dress. My general rule of thumb is if it’s fitted up top and flowy on the bottom I get my normal size. This dress is a little low cut for my taste, so I just added a safety pin above the first button for a little more coverage.
I impulsively bought this top in January during the After Party Sale. I thought it would be perfect work in the Spring… lol little did I know. However, this top is great for working from home because it’s a t-shirt like material so it’s comfortable and great to wear on Zoom.
Runs true to size.
Rompers
So my rule of thumb is if the straps are adjustable get your normal size if it’s not I size up. Maybe it’s just my body type but if I can’t adjust the straps I get nervous. It may be a little big in the chest but I would rather it fit everywhere else than not be able to get it over my hips.
Rompers are tricky and all sales are final for the After Party Sale so I just don’t risk it. I will say if it’s cotton and not as structured there is definitely more flexibility.
This dress I 100% should have sized up on. It definitely runs small and is fitted. I only wore this dress for this photo and then ended up selling it because it just didn’t work for me. It’s a stunning dress, just size up!
This top has mixed reviews, personally I love it. I wore it to work a few times and think it’s so cute. The sleeves are dramatic, this photo doesn’t really do it justice. I think most people are just expecting something different. Unlike the Elsa, I do find that this top runs a little short, so if you have a long torso this might not be for you.
I 100% bought this top for the print but then really ended up liking it. It’s very thin so perfect for summer. It’s also machine washable and runs true to size. This top is more casual than the Elsa because of the lightweight cotton fabric.
This is probably my least favorite Lilly top I own. It’s very long (it is a tunic) and the a little tight for me around the upper back area like I can’t really reach for things. I think it would be a great swim coverup, but it’s just not my fave to wear out.
Another fave Lilly dress. This one runs true to size and I got my normal size since it’s fitted up top and an a-line skirt. This dress is perfect for cocktail parties, charity events, holiday parties. It’s my go-to cocktail dress because you’re guaranteed to stand out at the party.
My girlfriend raves about the Florin tops and I finally got one in the January After Party Sale then bought another in the June Dressed for Summer Sale. I size down in the to an XS because the straps are not adjustable.
But here’s what I love about this top, it’s reversible so it’s like two tops in one. It’s bra-friendly. It’s easy to style for date night or work. It’s a great basic and these do typically go quick during the sale.

Moving on to styles you guys submitted!
Runs big.
The top is an XL. I’m 5’6” and at the time weighed 170 and it was big. Should have gotten a large – size down or if you want to wash and dry like normal get your normal size because it is 100% cotton so it’ll shrink. – Tammy T.
PS: This is actually my mom, how cute is she!
Runs roomy and accommodates a growing baby bump for me for a good bit of my pregnancies – Elise L.
Size xxs! I’m usually a xxs and this was definitely true to size! The adjustable straps makes it adjustable which is a nice touch! Especially for me since I’m short! I’m 5’2” and this was a maxi on me! – Alli
Tunic, size small! I’m 5’3 and a 34c! True to size. – Alex from Adored By Alex
Size small True to size 5’9, 135lb I got engaged in this dress in Disney! It’s a fun to dress up or down. Very lightweight and comfortable. I’m also a sucker for anything blue and white :). – Ashley
These are Georgia Mays in a size XL (first photo). I’m a size 20/22. Georgia Mays in a size XXL (second photo). The XXL has a better fit in the hip and waist area. – Janetha from I Am Gracefully Broken
I’m wearing a medium and I think it’s true to size! I’m normally an 8/10/Medium and I’m 5’7 – Rachel E.
I’m 5’6, 145 and this is a medium in one of the rompers! Fits perfect! – Megan T.
Adalina High Collar Shift Romper
I generally wear a 10 or sometimes an 8. This is a 10 but a bit loose on top though it fits in the hips
5’6”, 170 lbs – Rachel F.
I’m 5’3 120 lb and am wearing a size xs romper. Felt comfortable. Was nervous the sleeves were a bit much with the ruffles, but got compliments. – Deb B.
I’m 5’2 and about 110 pounds. I’m wearing a 00 in the Orchid Lace Dress and I fluctuate between 00 and 0 depending on the style of dress. Loved this one though. So flattering and fit perfectly! – Ashley L.
It’s a medium. I’m 5’7, 150 lbs, 36C, and an 8 and probably could’ve taken a small. It’s a sleeveless cotton shift FYI but looks cute with the jacket. – Dafna S.
I bought the pearl romper last year, and I love the neckline detail, but as with most rompers, it’s not easy to get in and out of when you need to use the ladies room. I’m 5’3, 130lbs, 36B, and I’m wearing a size 4. I like to Lilly not super fitted, so a size 4 was perfect for me. I love that this romper has three classic Lilly look but as a romper. – Megan M.
Shorts are luxletic 4in ocean trail short in xl and I find them to run a bit on the small side
Laurana off the shoulder dress (Second Photo)
3/4 sleeve dress is Laurana off the shoulder dress in large and I feel like it runs a little big!
– Stephanie K
This is a 4, true to size! – Kira
Maurine Maxi Dress (Second Photo)
Joella dress and Maurine maxi dress were some of my favorites! They both fit like a glove and were very flattering on the body. I’m 5’9, 155lbs, size 8, both true to size.
Rivera Midi Dress (First photo)
Medium, size down runs large
Kristen Swing Dress (Second Photo)
Large, true to size
-Holly

Hi, how does the Lilly Pulitzer Mallory Shirt Dress fit? I just bought one on eBay, it was advertised as a 8 but on very close I inspection i can see the tag shows it’s a 6. The shipping was so expensive I can’t send it back… I want to know what to expect.
