Now that I am back in the office the corporate office culture is real including “boo-ing” your co-workers. I got boo-ed on Monday so I had to put together a little goodie basket to boo 1-2 of my coworkers. I love putting together gifts because gifts are my love language, so, of course, I headed to none other than Target after work. I was shocked by the lack of selection, everything was so picked over so much so that I thought they hadn’t finished putting Halloween out yet. So it was a little more challenging than I expected so I thoughts I’d share How To Make An Affordable Boo Basket in case you find yourself in the same predicament this month.

I don’t think any of my co-workers read the blog so I should be safe sharing all the details of the baskets I put together!

How To Make An Affordable Boo Basket

When putting together gift baskets I really like to have a balance of fun items and practical items. Since these for my co-workers, I wanted to include some things that would be useful at their desk like some hand lotion, hair ties, a cute mug, and a fun new pen.

The goal is to always make the basket look full and exciting without, of course, breaking the bank. The easiest way to do that is to get some larger cheaper items. In this case, I grabbed some Halloween cookies, gummy bats, and the mug to really fill the basket form there you can add smaller items in to really fill in the cracks.

Adding tissue paper to the bottom of the basket also really helps add height without packing into too many items. My best tip is to start at the dollar store or the dollar section at Target to find a bucket, basket, box, etc. then grab any other cheap seasonal items then layer in some larger ticket items.

Lastly, a big cost-saver can be getting items in a pack and then splitting them up. For example, the pens I got came in a two-pack for $8 so splitting them up is only $4 each and the same with the hair ties.
