9 Ways To Style Stripes

Much like white tees, stripes are pretty much something I live in. Stripes are something I think can be versatile and styled in many different ways. Stripes can all different shapes, sizes, and silhouettes. Here are 9 ways to style stripes.

1. Cheetah Accent

A Cheetah accent and stripes is a Jenna Lyons classic. She made this look a J.Crew staple and many, like me, have adopted it in their everyday style. This could be as dramatic as a cheetah pant or as simple as a belt or shoe cheetah accent.

2. With A Blazer

I love the layered look of a striped tee under a structured blazer. This is a simple and sophisticated look perfect for the office.

3. White Jeans

White jeans are a no-brainer to pair with stripes. A majority of stripes consist of an accent color complimented by a white base. By pulling out this base color it pulls the look together easily and makes your outfit effortless.

4. Bold Pattern

Stripes can act as a complementary pattern when mixing it with a larger pattern than the stripe. Like the outfit above, the smaller stripes are a good accent for the bold pattern fo the silk scarf.

5. Contrasting Pop of Color

A pop of color like this red bah is a simple way to bring a look to the next level. This can be done with a purse like above or earrings and other accessories.

6. Embellished Stripes

When you are tired of your typical stripes opt for something a little flashier with embellishment. A sequin pattern on top the stripes adds a whimsical touch to a classic stripe.

Much like a pop of color, a complimentary handbag can complete a look. I’m the girl who generally carries one handbag, but when I swap out my daily bag for one that goes with the outfit it really makes a difference.

Similar to the large pattern play, small patterns are also complimentary. The general rule is large pattern, small stripes, and small stripes, large pattern. The last simple way to style stipes is with a statement earring. This should be no shock given how many times I wear a statement earring on my Instagram in a week. This is just a simple way to top off the look.
