It is finally feeling like winter in Houston and I’ve been loving breaking out some of my favorite sweaters. Sweaters are something I believe you should invest in because a classic style high-quality sweater is something that will be able to be worn for many years. I think styling sweaters for business casual can be a little tricky, especially with trousers so I wanted to give you some winter business casual outfit inspiration for the next time you’re standing in front of your closet on a chilly weekday.
Winter Business Casual Outfit Inspiration
This look is super basic with a cream turtleneck sweater and black trousers but it’s all in the styling. Adding a simple front tuck to the sweater adds shape and really elongates the leg. And since the trousers hit right above the ankle it actually continues that long line. By adding that break before the shoe it is actually more flattering than having your fabric pool on your shoe or hitting right at it.
It was super cold the day I shot these photos so I actually have a mock neck bodysuit on underneath which would actually be perfect for places that get much colder than Houston.
These trousers are my absolute favorite because they are a brushed flannel but they’re also pull on and a straight leg so they are extremely comfortable and warm to wear. I own them in three others colors that’s how much I love them!
I added some flair to the outfit with a pop of color with a maroon purse. This purse is actually from Amazon and it’s of great quality. It’s also a great way to snag a fun color bag without breaking the bank.
My shoes are also from Amazon and I think having a nude mule/loafer is something everyone should have in their workwear wardrobe. They go with everything and look polished and put together.
Lastly, I added a small statement stud to continue to draw focus to the neckline. It’s the perfect workwear earring because it doesn’t get in the way of things like phone, headphones, masks, etc.
This look would be so easy to recreate based on things you likely already have in your closet! Hopefully, this gives you the inspiration to wear them in a new way.
