After many years I am in a place where I am very comfortable in my style. I can walk into a store and instantly know what’s going to look good on me and what is going to fit in my closet. This is a blessing, but also a curse. I tend to get stuck in style ruts, always grabbing the same navy and white stripe tee, statement earrings, and sandals.
I’ve been working with Banana Republic Factory recently, which is totally up my alley because it’s preppy classic clothing with an affordable price tag. They sent me a pre-curated box of goodies and I was surprised and delighted at the pieces. Two of the three pieces were very me and then there were these wide-leg trousers. I pulled them out and thought, no way! Absolutely not my style!
I was playing dress up and figuring out how I would style everything. On a whim, I put these wide-leg trousers on and fell in love! I would have NEVER tried these on in-store or ordered them online. The colors and the pattern is very classic but the wide leg cropped hem pushes the boundaries for this classic preppy girl.
I am pretty petite at 5’2″ and I would have thought either they would have been too long or too overwhelming on my small frame. But with a small heel or even a stiletto, they are so flattering and sophisticated!
These are such a fun twist and would be perfect for work or even a conference.
I love the way the stripes go the other way on the hem. Details like that really elevate an outfit. You look beautiful in them! xAllie
