It’s the season of patios, outdoor activities and what to wear to work in the warm weather. I work in a business casual office, technically the dress code “creative casual” which can sometimes be referred to as “smart casual” in other workplaces but dressing for warm weather in the business environment is tricky.
What To Wear To Work In The Warm Weather
Showing your shoulders at work can be a little controversial, so definitely feel out what is appropriate and what isn’t before you rock your shoulders at work. However, at my job, it’s completely acceptable. I also live in the South, so many workplaces in the South find it appropriate because it gets so dang hot here.
I love this palm leaf shift dress from Ann Taylor because it’s summery and fun while still be professional and breathable. The silhouette is very flattering, not too tight and just the right length. I chose to style it with these adorable bow raffia heels to really play up the summer element, but if you prefer closed toed shoes for work a basic pair of nude pumps would also look adorable.
To tie in the raffia of the heels, I grabbed these adorable raffia tassel earrings from Akola. I love how neutral they are while still making a statement. I also went with a wicker bags, but would typically grab my work bag if I was heading to the office.
If showing your shoulders is something you aren’t comfortable with or isn’t appropriate for your workplace, you could definitely opt for a cardigan or blazer on top. See more outfit inspiration below.
This outfit would definitely transition easily from work to happy hour or even a night at the theater. I could think of so many cute ways to style this dress which is my favorite because I’m always looking for pieces with versatility to get the most cost per wear of my items.
