Back in February, I got my first pair of Madewell jeans. At the time, I was working for an advertising agency and one of our clients was Madewell. One of the perks of the jobs was as a free jean voucher. Check out my full initial review here.
Once I got my first pair I was hooked. They are seriously the best jeans I have EVER worn. I basically haven’t taken this pair of since February (jk…but really), so the other day I was wearing them and noticed a small hole in the upper inner thigh region. I was super bummed because now I have collected several more pairs of Madewell jeans, but my first pair was my favorite.
I called Madewell’s customer service and HOLY COW they were helpful! They answered the phone immediately without me being put on hold or having to press several automated buttons to get to someone. I explained that I had them for a while and got a small hole in them and wanted to see if they offered any repair services.
She told me that they didn’t offer any repairs, but they did offer reimbursements for alterations/repairs up to $50. She looked me up in the system and found my order with no problem. Unfortunately, since I did get this pair for free I wasn’t eligible for this program…beggers, can’t be choosers right? However, this is SO good to know for my several other pairs I have bought on my own.
Now that I’m a Madewell jeans addict, I wanted to share some of the reason their jeans are my favorite and what style I prefer.
8 inch vs 9 inch vs 10 inch
- Madewell offers 3 main waistline variations, the 8 inch, 9 inch and 10 inch. I have now owned all three variations and the 9 inch is my favorite. Here are a couple reasons why.
- They make the perfect front tuck because of the height.
- They are high waisted but not too high waisted where you can’t eat dinner
- They very flattering and suck everything in to give you that little extra confidence boost (but all their jeans do that!)
- The 9 inch very comfortable because it hits right below your belly button.
Madewell jeans don’t stretch out, which is my favorite thing about them. Did you know it’s suggested to only wash your jeans once every 2-6 months? This makes them last longer and not fade. These jeans keep their shape and are very low maintenance because they are such high quality.
I like the 1o inch a lot, but I recommend buying the 9 inch as your first purchase. I also recently bought the 8 inch and it’s perfect for more casual outfits, but my 9 inch is definitely my go-to.
Everyone is different when it comes to jeans, so I highly recommend going in store and trying on a pair before you buy. If you don’t have a Madewell close, they are also sold in Nordstrom. Once you know your size and fit you can stock up online during sales online! That’s definitely what I do!
