During my time in Los Angeles, we spent an afternoon and evening at Terranea. Looking all over Pinterest and researching LA, I don’t remember this resort being mentioned once.
Terranea is a luxury oceanfront resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, which is the southernmost tip of Los Angeles. Although a gorgeous property and I’m sure the rooms are absolutely breathtaking, this is out of most people’s budgets including myself. But you don’t have to have a reservation to enjoy some of the amenities.
Terranea has hiking trails, a spa, several restaurants and boutiques and a lot more to do and enjoy. We just Ubered straight there, walked in and went straight to the hiking trails without a problem.
The trail takes you down to this beautiful landing to the ocean where in some months you can watch whales. You can also hike up to the cliff like we did and just on the other side of the cliff there is a cave that pending the water level you can go down into. I feel like this is where the Kardashians go hiking.
After our hike, we popped into the spacious lobby bathroom and did a quick change and freshen up before dinner.
We sat on the lawn and watched the sunset which was amazing and then headed down to Nelson’s for dinner. We started dinner on the patio enjoying the last bit of sunset with a glass of wine and then moved inside once it got chillier and enjoyed the rest of our meal in the dining room.
This was such a cool experience and totally had the upscale SoCal vibe. If you are looking for something free to do in California (which is a rarity) I highly recommend spending a few hours at Terranea.
