A couple weeks ago my brother got married. I was a bridesmaid in the wedding and I wanted to look bronzed and beautiful for his big day. The wedding was on a Thursday, so the Monday before I made an appointment for a spray tan.
This was my first spray tan ever. I was recommended to Smart Bronze Airbush Tanning in Southlake, Texas. The experience was wonderful there! The salon was very clean and very nice inside and the price was reasonable at $40 for a full body spray done by a professional and not a booth. I chose to only wear my underwear for minimal lines and the woman made me feel comfortable and not awkward at all.
Following the spray tan you have to wait 8 hour before you can shower. I’m not going to lie the feeling after the tan was the WORST! I felt so sticky and smelly and overall just gross. After I showered it was much better and I felt confident in my new tan.
The day of the wedding the tan looked great and I had no issues however, the days following the wedding the tan began to fade and started to look extremely splotchy and frankly is still looks splotchy.
I stayed moisturized and were very careful drying off out of the shower just like they instructed and the results were still very uneven. Below I have pictures of how the tan has progressed. All of the pictures are unedited so you can see the true progression.

All three of us (my mom, sister and I) got spray tans for the wedding.

I loved my spray tan until several days after. I am now trying to scrub it all of so my skin looks even again. I think Smart Bronze was great and I don’t think it’s there fault it faded the way it did. From what I understand the splotchiness is very common.
If you are looking for a quick tan and don’t care what it looks like a week or two later than spray tan is the way to go. If you care, I would opt for something like a Jergens Natural Glow Lotion or the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs or the good old fashion sun in moderation and with SPF.
How have spray tans turned out for you? Have you seen similar results or do you swear by them? Let me know below!

I always do an at home spray tan. I love nutrogena.

I LOVE spray tans! I’d maintain it through out the summer if I could afford it. But I just do,them for special occasions, much like you did here. I haven’t noticed much splotchiness as the tan progressed. But I have noticed some body parts don’t take it as well as others. I make sure to exfoliate really well before the tan and next time I’ll try to keep it maintained on my legs with my company’s (H2O at Home) all natural bronzer.
