Over the past year or so there’s been so much chatter around jeans and the style of jeans worn and in reflection, we’re seeing that in the type of jeans that are currently on the market. Now as a millennial I am holding tight to my youth but I’m also not trying to relive those hideous 90s trends from my childhood. Jeans are so tough to shop for to begin now throwing in the skinny jean stereotype adds another layer of complexity.
I recently was introduced to the brand NYDJ (formerly known as Not Your Daughter’s Jeans). Their mission is to address women’s head-to-toe style needs while staying true to their fit-first mindset. Made for all shapes, sizes and ages, their selection of clothing, handbags, and shoes are designed and carefully curated to complement their customer’s every move and help her express her style point of view.
NYDJ Jeans Review
I really struggled when deciding which pair of jeans to go with because there are so many great options, but I decided to go with Sheri Slim Ankle Jeans with Frayed Hems in the color Rockie. I wanted some I could wear both inside and outside of the office.
NYDJ recommends sizing down one full size from your normal size for the perfect fit. I personally feel like I’m in this weird in-between sizes and also in slight denial of my current size in comparison to my pre-pandemic size, but I went with the recommendation and sized down to a size 6. Unfortunately, they were too small so I ended up getting my normal size of a size 8 and because of the frayed hem I went with the petite so I wouldn’t have to worry about altering them.
Other than the initial sizing mix-up, these jeans fit great and the length is perfect (I’m 5’2″ for reference). I love how they hit just above the ankle and are a true mid-rise. The NYDJ’s Sheri Slim Jeans are an expertly cut fit that will always be in season and this style features classic five-pocket styling, zip fly, and button closure.
I also love that they aren’t skinny jeans but are still slim and flattering. NYDJ jeans also feature Lift Tuck Technology in all their jeans. All of their jeans are created premium stretch jeans with Lift Tuck® Technology, designed to help women look, feel and wear a size smaller, using proprietary slimming panel with a patented criss-cross design to flatten in front and flatter curves in back. This is a game-changer. I felt secure and held all while still being very comfortable.
Along with the pair of jeans, I also wanted to try out one of their tops. Below I am wearing the Pintuck Blouse in a size medium. This blouse is SO versatile. It can be dressed up for the office or dressed down with a pair of jeans and it can also be layered for colder months.
The NYDJ’s Pintuck Blouse boasts a billowy three-quarter-sleeved silhouette. The pleating at the back yoke creates a sophisticated yet easy drape and the split round neckline with covered full front placket and button closures.
It is slightly sheer so I am wearing a nude camisole, but this was such a pleasant surprise. The silhouette and the length are perfect. I love it untucked or front tucked and I’m not a leggings girlie but it is long enough in the back to cover your bum if you did want to pair it with the leggings.
I was not accepting to like this top as much as I do and I’ve already worn it several times since getting in which is a true sign I like it if I’m constantly reaching for it!
Overall, I am so impressed with NYDJ. I went expecting to just be meh about the items but I really love these jeans as well as this top. These are great basics in my wardrobe I know I’ll get tons of wear out and because of the quality, they will last for years to come.

NYDJ jeans ; absolutely horrible customer service. I’ve called they’re customer service phone number 3 times and requested a call back each time. I’ve yet to get a response. I e mailed them once and got a generic response back. Will NEVER buy a pair of they’re jeans again.
I agree….I have a closet full of NYDJ purchased from them directly or Dillard’s. Recently a TV show featured NYDJ styles at 50% off. I ordered 2 pairs of shorts and got a confirmation. Ten days later I had not gotten a shipping confirmation, so I emailed them. Within a few days they sent an email saying they shipped 1 pair and refunded the 2nd pair…no explanation. It took several emails to them asking why they cancelled them when they clearly had them on their site in my size and color. I got ignored, but kept emailing. Finally, someone responded and said to order them online and send her the order # and she will honor the price of the pair that they cancelled. I did so within minutes of her email and sent her the order #, so she could reimburse my credit card for the price I originally paid. She never responded to that email or the follow up email I sent. NYDJ used to have great customer service, but no longer the case!
