I picked up this blazer on a MAJOR discount a few weeks ago and knew it would fit perfectly into my workwear wardrobe. The only issue was that it’s a little longer than I typically go for as it’s more of a boyfriend fit. After playing around I finally figured out the best way to wear it, so I thought I would share some tips on how to style a long blazer.
How To Style A Long Blazer
I absolutely love this blazer because one, it was on super sale and it’s no surprise that I love a good sale find, and two, the fabric is really great quality and perfect for really cold winter workdays.
It’s a black and white plaid tweed with little accents of pink. I chose to go for a pretty simple look pairing this blazer with a black lightweight sweater underneath but you could also opt for a white and striped tee or even a light pink blouse.
I considered pairing this blazer sweater combo with black jeans but went with traditional denim instead, making the look a little more dynamic.
Because this blazer is more of an oversized fit I wanted both the sweater and the denim to be tailored so that’s why I chose a fitted sweater and skinny jeans so that way my shape isn’t lost in the bulk.
For shoes, I went with a simple black closed-toe heel to really elongate my legs and contrast the blazer’s bulk.
For jewelry, I grabbed my favorite rings, sunnies and Kendra Scott earrings.
Lastly, I topped off the look with this Kate Spade crossbody bag. This bag ties the whole look together taking it from simple office attire to cool-girl chic.
This look would look killer in the office but also transition really well to drinks at happy hour.
