Every year it’s the same old same old, I set new year’s resolutions and by February I’ve already forgotten what they are. I am a very goal oriented person when it comes to my work life, but when it comes to my personal life I feel overwhelmed by goals around health, eating habits, etc.
In 2019, I’ve decided to take a different approach. I’ve chosen one word to focus on all year long and I used a simple quiz to help find out what it should be. With only 7 faith-minded questions I was able to find one word that would help me be more intentional in 2019.
Drumroll…. My word for 2019 is delight. And wow what a good word!
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4
This is something I am REALLY bad at. I am constantly thinking about what I should be doing, worrying about what’s going to happen or worse, what I should be working on for my blog or my full-time job and not being in the moment and taking delight in what is happening right then around me.
2019 is my year to delight in all things, and sing His praises. My 2019 goal is to concentrate on His faithfulness, even in the little details like folding laundry, and to share my unwavering, deep-seated happiness with everyone around you.
