I am so excited to share Harrison’s nursery reveal featuring Namesake Nursery. When we moved into our new home the nursery was the top priority. I am so thankful to have a design-conscious husband who’s also VERY handy. As much as I’d like to take credit for the nursery this is his brainchild and labor of his love. He had a vision and executed it perfectly. If you have a baby boy on the way I hope this gives you some baby boy nursery inspiration.
Baby Boy Nursery Inspiration featuring Namesake Nursery
When it comes to baby boy nursery inspiration I notice two routes, one, over-the-top super cheesy themes like cars, golf, or boats, or two, a sad beige baby nursery with the classic name over the crib. There’s nothing wrong with these designs but it wasn’t a route we wanted to go down. We wanted something that felt Southern young but still cohesive with the rest of our home and would grow with him. If you look closely there is a theme of animals but we wanted it to feel elevated and not cheesy.
The biggest project of the nursery was the board and batten and trim work. Jared did all of this himself!! It took him a lot of love, a lot of work, and a lot of curse words lol, but it was worth it! This completely changed the room and it’s definitely my favorite part! It’s something that will grow with them and such a timeless look. We considered wallpaper but this was different and added a lot of character to the room.
He painted the trim work Serenata AF-535 by Benjamin Moor and the top half of the walls are the same color as the rest of our home. We wanted a mix of blues and greens to add depth to the decor. To highlight the trim work we wanted a window shade to highlight it and not hide like traditional curtain would. Belive it or not, this custom roman shade is from AMAZON! We hunted high and low for an affordable custom roman shade and we took a chance on this Amazon purchase and it turned out better than we could have ever imagined!
When it came time to pick our furniture I was SO picky! I had a lot of qualifications, of course, safety and quality are important but I had certain design elements I was looking for. Namesake checked every single one of those boxes. Their pieces are timeless and crafted with safety and sustainability.
For the crib, I wanted both the front and the back of the crib to be the same height. I don’t know why but when I was looking for cribs 90% of them had a higher back and I hated the way that looked. So when I found the Liberty 3-in-1 Convertible Spindle Crib I knew it was the one! I loved the warm white with the spindle details and I LOVED that the front and the back were the same height. It’s also a bonus it converts into a toddler crib to grow with him.
To match the crib we went with the Liberty 6-Drawer Assembled Dresser. This complements the crib perfectly and is the right amount of storage for clothes, diapers, bedding, and more. We added drawer dividers to optimize the space but I love the clean design, simple nobs, and scalloped trim.
Debatably the most important part of the room, the glider! I sat in SO many gliders to find the perfect one. I felt like Goldilocks! I loved the luxury ones with all the bells and whistles but our budget didn’t and I hated the ones our budget liked.
The Harbour Electronic Recliner and Swivel Glider in Eco-Performance Fabric with USB port from Namesake truly was the right fit. It has the electronic features for convenience. It’s a classic timeless design that fits the aesthetic with added perks of being water-resistant and stain-repellent. It’s also Greenguard Gold Certified which was a must for us. And most importantly, it’s comfortable! Ordering a glider online without sitting in it made me nervous but I am so glad I took the risk because it’s perfect for us! I’ve already put many hours on this chair and I wouldn’t order any differently!
To pull together the room, we mixed in pieces we already had like the Texas Forever pennant, horse painting, landscape art, and scallop wicker side table with new pieces the oversized stuffed giraffe, animal rug, toy chest, green diaper pail, and more.
The animal print rug is another element that brings the room together perfectly. It’s whimsical but still classic and I can just imagine sitting with him when he’s older pointing out all of the animals. It’s also washable which is a major bonus in a little boys room!
This is by far my favorite room in the house and I can’t wait for Harrison to grow up in there and begin to explore all of the fun things.

This is absolutely stunning! One of my favorite baby boy nurseries I think I’ve ever seen. You totally stuck to the Southern Young vibe and this is so classic and cute.
