When it comes to winter fashion I really don’t indulge in too many trends, for me I like to pull out the pieces I’ve had for years and continue to serve me well. I may splurge on a new scarf or some new classic sweaters but I think you can’t go wrong with the timeless pieces in your wardrobe to make you look put together and classic. Here’s one of my recent favorite outfits for some timeless winter outfit inspiration.
Timeless Winter Outfit Inspiration
A good base of any winter outfit is a solid and timeless coat. I’ve had this City Coat from J.Crew Factory since 2019 and still reach for every day in the colder months. Here’s one of the first photos of me wearing it and it’s still in style and chic.
The camel color of this coat is perfect because it goes with so many things in my closet and the shape is perfect for jeans, sweaters, or even dresses. I love the flexibility to dress it up or down.
I love to wear this coat draped over my shoulder for a more chic look, but I also love to wear it normally for a more practical look. We shot these photos when it was 25 degrees outside and it kept me super warm.
**This coat is also currently on sale for $108 right now! Shop it here.
For under the coat, I went with another piece everyone should have in their wardrobe, a white long sleeve turtleneck bodysuit. These are amazing for layering and for wearing on their own. These are the winter equivalent of a white short sleeve tee in the Spring and Summer.
My favorite bodysuits are some Abercrombie and I size up one for a little extra room.
For my jeans, I went with a classic dark wash but in a slightly trendier shape. Personally, I’ve been wearing wide-leg jeans for a year but they are currently very on-trend. Depending on the style I think it’s something that will never go out of style.
I also think cheetah is a timeless print, and some could argue a neutral print. These cheetah booties paired with the bold print of the scarf totally make this outfit. Whether it’s heels, booties or flats I think everyone should have at least one style of cheetah shoe in their closet. They can take a rather simple outfit to the next level just by adding a pop of cheetah.
Lastly, scarves and accessories! As we all know the blanket scarf trend is out, but that doesn’t mean all scarves are out. I snagged this scarf from Amazon but this equestrian print and traditional rectangle shape will be in style for years to come. You can also use this scarf as a wrap and wear it on slightly warmer days with the exact same pieces minus the coat.
And to top off the look, some tortoise sunglasses, and a black purse. All of these items are easy staples in any wardrobe and went put together it makes the perfect timeless winter outfit. This is an outfit I can look back on years from now and think I’d still wear that!
