Fall is one of my favorite seasons because I love layering, I love sweaters and I love boots. However, I always feel this lul when the colder months come of what do I wear? I have all of these cute summer dresses that I’m not ready to put away yet, but it’s definitely too cold to wear them on their own.
One easy way to transition your closet is with layers. Think out of the box! I was rummaging through my closet one evening trying to figure out what I was going to wear the next day and on a whim pulled out this striped sleeveless shift dress and grabbed one of favorite cowl neck sweaters. If I were to just explain this to you, you would probably think I was crazy, but as you can see they pair very nicely together.
I recommend trying this look with shift dresses or shirt dresses that hit right above the knee because of the straight silhouette it makes everything appear very slim. Since the sweater is already bulky you want to keep the bottom half fitting and slim for a more flattering look.
Another tip is to utilize your boots. Because it is cold outside I would have looked silly with flats or booties, but I opted for my riding boots to give me coverage and warmth on my legs. Tights or over the knee boots are also great options to add warmth to your legs.
This outfit is definitely going to be on repeat for me in the upcoming weeks.
