I feel like as a blogger, people think I dress to the nine all the time, but I promise that is not the case! In the world of Instagram, it’s easy to get wrapped in thinking people’s lives are perfect and they are always dressed perfectly. I recently received a message from a reader talking about how my life is perfect.
Well, guess what? It’s not! I have my struggles. I don’t always dress up. And sometimes, I chow down on a burger in a casual pullover. Now I’m very happy with my life right now, but on my Instagram, you only get to see a small glimpse into my life. You don’t see me waking up at 3 AM taking Beau outside. You don’t see me hangry. You don’t see me on day 3 of not washing my hair and running to Wal Mart for groceries.
One of my goals for 2018 is to be more open and honest with you and to share more into my personal life. So here’s a start with me eating some burgers with Jared.
And here’s a little back story on this photo shoot to keep it extra real. This was the last outfit of our photoshoot which luckily turned out awesome, but had the potential to be a nightmare. We got to Hopdoddy in Fort Worth with Margo, our photographer, after it was icing and terrible weather, passing several wrecks on the way there. Once we finally got there the power was out. Jared and I were pretty hangry at this point and I promised him if he came with us on the shoot we could get truffle garlic fries.
Since the power was out the fry machine wasn’t working, they were struggling with the debit card system and the milkshake machine was down. Luckily, we stuck it out and they got the milkshake and fry machines working so Jared was happy, buuuuut the power went off 3 times while we were in there and I almost fell on ice on my way out.
Also not pictured, people staring at us because we are having a full photoshoot while eating lunch.
Just remember no one’s life is as glamorous as what they put on their Instagram!

Thank you for posting a real snapshot of your life! It is easy to get hung up on thinking everyone else’s life is perfect based on what we see on social media. I appreciate you admitting your struggles and glad to know others get hangry and occasionally go without washing our hair for a day or two 🙂

I’m so glad you loved this post! And yes, Jared makes me carry snacks in my purse because I am not fun to be around when I’m hangry!
