Since moving to Arkansas, my mom and I don’t get to see each other too often, so we decided to take a weekend trip down to Austin. Luckily, Austin isn’t too far from the Dallas-Fort Worth area (about 3 hours), so it made for the perfect destination and the JW Marriott Austin is located in the heart of downtown with an amazing view of the state capital so it couldn’t have been more perfect location!
We checked in late Thursday night after spending the day in Waco. When arriving at the JW Marriott Austin the front desk staff was so friendly and immediately accommodating – when clearly the hotel was booked for the weekend (we later found out there was a teacher conference happening).
When we made it up to our room there were sweet champagne treats waiting on us. We crashed and immediately headed to bed.
The only plans for Friday were shopping and some good old R&R. We spent the morning in a beautiful poolside cabana with drinks in hand. It was JUST what we needed Pine Colada and all.
The poolside cabana had a privacy curtain, a poolside attendant for all your food and drink needs and a TV and sound system. This would be perfect for a bachelorette party! It was obviously just the two of us, but it could easily hold 8-10 people. We took full advantage of this and loved every minute.
We also had access to the executive lounge which offered grab-and-go snacks and drinks, complimentary breakfast and hors-d’oeuvres and drinks. The lounge is available to Marriott Gold and Platinum Rewards Members or for an upgraded fee. You better believe we took advantage of this. Candied pecans and lattes all day!! This was probably something we took the most advantage of throughout the weekend. We loved popping in for snacks or water bottles!
Although not pictured, my personal favorite part of the JW Marriott Austin was the shower. I know, that sounds weird…hear me out! The shower had the perfect water pressure with the most luxurious shower head. I’m still dreaming of that shower!
