Yesterday was Giving Tuesday and all day I was thinking about how I could give somewhere meaningful and make a big impact. Nothing was really clicking until I checked my email at about 4 PM. I received an email from the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas (which I’m a member of) and they were asking for people to help sponsor children this Christmas. This is something we did growing up and I know always helped so much.
I remember having a friend when I was younger who’s family was from the Congo. She went our church and had a lot of brothers and sisters and one year we sponsored their family and provided all their Christmas presents I know it meant so much to them and their mom. So I thought now that I have built such a strong community with Thrifty Pineapple how cool would it be to all come together to sponsor some Christmases.
My goal is to sponsor 5 kids this Christmas and fulfill items on their wishlist.
I was sent 5 kids through the Children’s Safety Center which is a local organization that empowers children to overcome abuse and begin to trust, hope, and heal.
I was given all of their wants and needs and I’ve curated Amazon wish lists to make shopping super easy. I’ve decided to sponsor one child on my own, but have 4 other children that I would love to sponsor as the Thrifty Pineapple community. I need your help to make this happen!
This year is so difficult for so many families and for so many of us we have well beyond our means and could really make a big difference with something so small.
Below is a little about each child with a link to their Amazon wish list. I’d love for you to browse and see what you are called to purchase. I tried to include items of all price points so hopefully everyone can find something.
Once the items are in your cart make sure to click “Angela Darnell’s Gift Registry Address” to ensure this goes to the right place! I will be collecting all of the items and wrapping them so they are ready for Christmas and then dropping them off at the Children’s Safety Center in Northwest Arkansas.
I am so excited about this because I know as a community we can help touch so many lives! If there is something you’d like to give that’s not on the list, please please please reach out and we can work together to get it covered!
If you just want to give something small or would rather just send some money feel free to also reach out or Venmo me letting me know that you’d like to donate monetarily and we can put it towards a gift card or purchasing whatever is remaining on the list.
