One of the most memorable moments of my wedding was my first look with my dad. A lot of girls bring their dads to pick out the dress or show them after, so when I told my dad I didn’t want to him to see it until the wedding day I think he was a little disappointed. I think he also had a hard time writing a fairly large check for something he had no idea what it looked like.
I kept my dress under wraps the entire time. I never showed anyone pictures and only brought a select number of people dress shopping. I wanted everyone’s genuine’s reaction on my big day.
Similar to my first look with Jared, I had my dad turn around and I tapped him on the shoulder. Again this moment was very private and no one was around. I did allow my mom to watch because I wanted to be able to share the moment as well. This was such a sweet moment between the three of us that I’ll cherish forever.
Growing up the daughter of a pastor, I wanted to gift my dad with a nice Bible with a handwritten note. Since he officiated the wedding this seemed like an extra special token of my love for him.
The process of my dad officiating the wedding was a little tricky to navigate since obviously, he had to walk me down the aisle. We ended up asking one of the pastors of our church at the time be on stage and my dad and I walked down the aisle. When we got to the front our pastor prayed and he then asked, “Who give this woman away?” After that, my dad and Jared hugged and switched places as we both walked on stage. The transition was flawless and I am so glad my dad was able to marry Jared and I.
What an amazing memory! I loved my quiet time before the wedding with my father too. I embroidered him a handkerchief and I’ll never forget the look on his face. xAllie

I love this!! I did a first look with my dad as well when I got married a month ago and it was perfect! There is something about a father daughter relationship that makes this kind of first look so incredibly special.
