Christmas is just around the corner and if you are hosting a holiday get-together or family celebration you need to add a hot cocoa bar to your list. It’s very cost-efficient but makes a big impact and it’s fun for kids and adults!
With everything you can be as extra or a simple as you (and your budget) would like! For me, I went with more of a simple approach grabbing all of these items for under $15. However, if you want to go all out Target has some really fun items that would be great to add to your hot cocoa bar like marshmallow toppers, chocolate spoon stirrers, and even hot cocoa bombs.
DIY Hot Cocoa Bar
My DIY hot cocoa bar must-haves are high-quality hot cocoa, marshmallows, whip cream, and peppermint syrup. Everything else like the cinnamon, mint chocolate candies, etc. is just an extra cherry on top.
The key to making a festive hot cocoa bar is all about presentation. I recommend taking all of the items out of their original packaging and putting them in serving dishes.
It also helps to designate a specific space that can be set up the whole time or weekend. I used this little cabinet off our kitchen and cleared everything off to give the hot cocoa bar its own space while not in the way of cooking happening in the kitchen.
Lastly, your mugs don’t have to match. Pull out all the fun mugs you’ve collected over the years and even toss in some holiday ones (if you have them). This will be such a hit and a good conversation starter with who got which mug.
This will definitely add a little pop of fun to your event and people will definitely be going back for more than 1 cup.
This is so so cute!! A few years ago I hosted a bring-your-own-mug hot chocolate Christmas party and it was so fun!
