I am always looking to try new hairstyles to switch up my looks. Hair clips are very on-trend right now but can be a little intimidating to wear. I wanted to share two easy ways to wear hair clips if you want to ease yourself into this trend. Both of these looks will work on shoulder length or longer hair or if you can put your hair in a low ponytail.
2 Easy Ways To Wear Hair Clips
I got these hair clips from Vera Bradley and really like the mixture colors and textures. They come in a three-pack which is great for wearing them one-off or pairing them all together.
I simply parted my hair down the middle and stacked all three hair clips on one side pulling my hair back ever so slightly. I did leave about an inch worth of hair above my ear out to frame my face.
If you have a side part you can still totally pull off this look, I would recommend using the hair clips to pull back the non-dominant side of your hair leaving some to frame your face as well.
For the second look, I pulled my hair back in a low ponytail and accented one side of the ponytail with the clips. I only used two to not overwhelm that back my hair. Since I have a middle part here it didn’t really matter which side I chose. If you have a side part, I would recommend placing the hair clips on the side of the ponytail opposite of your part (on your dominant side of your hair).
Styling Hair Clips
When it came to putting the full look together with these hair clips I really wanted to keep it simple but still tie in the colors. I went with neutral colors for my top and shorts. I accented the pink hair clip with the pop of pink for shoes, but really let the hair clips be the star of the shoes.
Some other ways to style these hair clips would be:
- White tee and dark denim
- Black dress
- Chambray top with white jeans
- Graphic tee and boyfriend jeans
- Pink t-shirt and black and white skirt
Similar to headbands you can wear hair clips regardless of the occasion and they work great with day 2 or 3 hair.
