My best friend’s sister just started working at Trunk Club and reached out to me to see if she could send me a trunk. Normally, I’m pretty skeptical about subscription styling service boxes like this, but I thought I would do it because I had nothing to lose. So below are my thoughts and a Trunk Club review of my experience.
Trunk Club Review
So the reason I’ve been skeptical in the past is that when I think of services like these, I think of StitchFix which in my opinion is a mom brand. I always see moms posting about it on Facebook and really their style is nothing like mine. The thing that I loved about Trunk Club was I knew it was a Nordstrom owned company. I LOVE Nordstrom and they have brands I know and trust.
My Trunk Club experience started by me filling out a survey with questions that asked about my style, my lifestyle, sizing and price points. After that my stylist, Erin, messaged me saying that she got my survey and was working on compiling items she thought I would like. She also asked if I had any requests. I let her know of some trends I wanted to try like over the knee boots and told her it was super cold where I lived so coats would be wonderful.
She sent me over a preview of my trunk with all the items and corresponding outfits for all of the pieces. There were a few things I didn’t think were my style, so she swapped them out for something she thought I would like and sent my trunk on.
Just 3 days later my trunk arrived. First off, it was HUGE. I mean obviously, it has to be to fit 7 items of clothing and 3 pairs of shoes, but I guess I wasn’t expecting it to be so big. lol
I LOVED everything in my trunk. She has a similar style to me and reads Thrifty Pineapple, so I had high expectations but wow, she blew me away. Everything was super affordable, which I loved! Everything was under $100. Here’s everything in my trunk:
My favorite pieces are definitely the things I’m wearing below! I love this super fun sweater because of the tiered statement sleeve and I love the pop of cheetah in the outfit with the Steve Madden Slides.
Something that also makes the whole experience worth it is the pre-styled outfits. So with your trunk, your stylist sends over all of the outfits you can make with the pieces sent. This really gives you an idea of how you can get your money’s worth from the pieces you love.
So once you try everything on you can choose to send everything back, you can keep a few of your favorite items or you can keep it all! It’s up to you! There is no obligation to keep anything.
Once you make your decision on your items, mailing it back is a breeze. The trunk comes with everything you need – even tape to close up the box!! Just close it all up, slap the prepaid and preprinted shipping label, then schedule a pick up from UPS and voila! You’re done.
Lastly, you can choose how often you want boxes, anything from weekly to monthly or even an option to get them whenever you want.
Overall, my Trunk Club experience was so pleasant and definitely made shopping so much easier. I didn’t have to search for hours online or worry about things not fitting or putting outfits together. All of the hard work was made easy with Trunk Club and with my stylist.
If you are interested I recommend signing up with Erin because she rocks and has great style! Definitely, Thrifty Pineapple approved!
Thanks for the review!
Iam still not completely sold though. You said everything was individually under $100 but how much did your first order actually cost?
Would love a response?
Happy to explain more! Each box is a $25 styling fee from there you can decide what you want to keep or send back. Each piece was under $100, should you decide to keep everything. You can’t wear and send it back. If you decide to wear it you do have to purchase it. I hope that clarifies more!
I also would love to know how much was spent in the above outfit.
Trunk Club sends multiple items, so you can pick and choose what you want to keep/purchase based on how you like it and your budget!
