I recently visited my local Clinique counter for a consultation, I would in no way consider myself a beauty/makeup guru, but I often binge watch makeup videos on YouTube so I like to think I know more than I actually do. I love to learn about new products and experiment with my make up, but I am pretty picky.
In my mind Clinique has always done skin care really well, but their other products seem a little old school to me. I have no idea where this mentality came from but this was the image I had in my head. If you’re like me your last visit to your Clinique counter was probably when your mom dragged you there when you first started wearing makeup.
I was very impressed with my one on one visit where my consultant walked me through a skin care routine. It was insightful to have someone customize a skin care and makeup to my personal skin needs. Clinique offers a personalized skin care routine,so there’s is no one size fits all or guessing game.
After skin care we walked through make up. I wear a full face of full coverage makeup everyday. I like to keep things pretty simple but I love bold lashes and strong black eyeliner. I really enjoyed that I was able to apply eyeliner and mascara myself. I was very happy with how the final look turned out. I still felt like myself but better!

I am VERY lazy when it comes to my skincare routine. If I can’t do it in the shower I don’t bother, and I NEVER exfoliate. My consultant explained to me the importance of exfoliating and gave me the tools and tricks to make skin care not so intimidating and not a lengthy process. One tool I was most impressed with was the Clinique Sonic System. The best part is I can keep it in my tub and use it during my nightly shower.
The Sonic movement offers deep yet gentle cleansing with an angled tip target the T-Zone and other hard to reach areas. It gently lifts the makeup, dirt and oil hand washing may miss. The tool is has a 2-year warranty and is an affordable price compared to other similar brushes on the market.
We all get blemishes and if you don’t I’m jealous! The Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel is perfect when you start feeling a bump dab it on and beat it before you have to put the squeeze on it. The most shocking part…you can put it over your foundation! This has been added to my purse for on the go.
The Pretty Easy Eyeliner changed my life! The tip is so thin and so tapered it makes liquid eyeliner “pretty easy”. The thickness of eyeliner varies depending on my day and depends on how many mistakes I make, with the eyeliner no more accidental thickness or crazy smudging.
I have never hopped on the brow trend. I have tried to fill in my brows but always wash it off because I think it looks weird. My Clinique consultant had me test the Superfine Liner for Brows and I actually liked it. The color was perfect and subtle but just enough to make a difference and I have been filling in my brows ever since.
My view on Clinique is no longer a old school makeup brand for old people. I know there are several products I will be going back to purchase once I run out.
