The cold shoulder trend is the little sister of the off the shoulder trend. The off the shoulder trend came first last summer which I definitely hopped on the band wagon and was glad to see it come back this year, but the cold shoulder trend pushed it’s way into the closets of many this season and put a little (and more functional) twist on the original.
The main thing I love about the cold shoulder is that you can wear a bra with the top and don’t have to worry about the straps showing. Because of the straps it gives a little more coverage, so you don’t feel quite as exposed.
I found this flouncy cold shoulder top from J.Crew, of course, on the sale rack! I love the double ruffle sleeve because it gives the top a more expensive feel, even though I got for pretty cheap. Because of the white polka dots, a white pant seemed like a no brainer. I would have normally gone with a wedge but opted for a dressy sandals for a practical approach. I kept the accessory pretty neutral to really keep the attention on the top.
This look would be prefect for a summer date night or a happy hour!
