To be the hostess with the mostest you’ve got to have a stocked bar cart! My bar cart is one of my favorite elements style and of course, enjoy. 😉
No matter how many times I switch up the styling there are always 8 signature things that will always live in my bar cart.
8 Things I Always Have On My Bar Cart
1. Sign
I think a good sign for a bar cart is such a fun way to showcase your personality. Letter boards and light boxes are all good ideas. This sign is actually one my sister made for our dessert table at our wedding but is totally applicable to our bar cart.
2. Decanters
Jared collects crystal decanters. We love going to antique stores or estate sales and find “new” ones to add to our collection. Our bar cart is the perfect place to showcase these beauties.
One note is a lot of crystal contains led, so I recommend pouring something inside that looks like whiskey or bourbon but that you won’t actually drink, just to be safe.
3. Drinkware
Of course, your bar cart should be a one-stop shop for all your party needs. Add a little fun to the functionality with fun drinkware. We have some monogram whiskey tumblers to match the decanter I got Jared on our wedding day. I also added some Spode Christmas champagne flutes to add to the holiday flair. I picked this set up for super cheap at my local Home Goods.
4. Everyday Decorative Elements
You, of course, need some everyday elements to tie in your bar cart with the rest of the room. We opted for a moss D from our wedding as well as a picture frame of us toasting (only appropriate). I also love having a lamp to brighten up the space, but to also add some height to the cart.
5. Seasonal Decorative Elements
I redecorate my bar cart frequently, I love being able to rearrange and switch up the elements for a completely different look. To Christmas-fy our bar cart, I started by hanging our stockings. We don’t have a fireplace and our cart is right by the tree so it just made sense. I then added some greenery along with cranberries and topped the look off with some holiday stirrers, napkins, and coasters.
6. Champagne Gummy Bears
It only makes sense… but we do have to replenish our stock every so often. If you haven’t tried them you aren’t living life to the fullest!
7. Liquor
Jared takes pride in his bourbon collection. He loves to have it out as a conversation piece when friends come over. For me, I just like to keep a pretty bottle of champagne or rose on the cart.
8. Cocktail Shakers/Bar Tools
A bar cart can be pretty and fun to style, but they still need to be useful! When shopping for your bar cart needs like I mentioned earlier it needs to functional and beautiful so think about making some of the functional elements like cocktail shakers and other bar tools pretty. I HIGHLY recommend checking our Anthropologie for some beautiful bar cart accessories!
